student at the top of the rock climbing wall

In the first week of April we wrapped up our gymnastics unit. After that, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students got a chance to try their best on the rock wall. Climbing takes a lot of muscle strength! It also takes a lot of mental toughness to overcome a fear of heights. Everyone did a great job on the wall and tried their best! Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders got the chance to work on their hand eye coordination while using the “loli-pop paddles.” The skills they learned will help them out in any racket sport, including Pickleball, tennis, badminton, and any others that are out there. Students learned and practiced the skills of an underhand serve and a volley. Some classes ended the unit playing a made up game called “pickleminton,” which is a combination of Pickleball and badminton. Great work everyone!
