The holiday and winter season can be a time that brings much joy to children and families.  However, it can also be a challenging time as additional costs and busy schedules can feel overwhelming.  There are resources in our community and school to help.  As the School Social Worker for the district, I encourage you to please reach out to me as I am happy to provide information on available resources as well as assist families in accessing these supports.

Below are some resources that families may find helpful this time of year:

 Holiday/Winter Help:

Thanksgiving Basket Program:

Please reach out to Carolyn Nelson, RN School Nurse or Marti Bolduc, School Social Worker no later than November 10, 2023 if you would benefit from some assistance with food at Thanksgiving this year.

Marti Bolduc: mbolduc@sau45.org, (603) 476-4996

Carolyn Nelson: cnelson@sau45.org, (603) 476-2406

The Santa Fund:

Moultonborough families with children up to age 18 or in Grade 12 are eligible for assistance.  The organization is offering an online registration form this year, you will find the link on the  Moultonborough Public library website.

Holiday Hope Organization:

Holiday Hope New Hampshire is a non-profit organization created to assist families who need a little help with getting a tree.  You can reach out to holidayhopenh@gmail.com to request assistance.

Fuel, Electrical & Rental Assistance:

TCCAP:

Your local Community Action Program, TCCAP is now accepting applications for fuel and electrical assistance.  Even if you have not been eligible in the past, I recommend reaching out, as there may be other types of assistance available.  http://www.tccap.org/services/housing-and-energy/energy-assistance-services/

NH Solar Shares Program:

This program allows low-income families to benefit from the cost savings and environmental benefits of solar energy.  Participants can receive $23-$32 off of NH Electric Co-Op electricity bill.  For information or to sign up call (603) 536-5030 or email nhsolarshares@plymouthenergy.org

Please check out our community resources link on the district website for additional information on other resources available in our community, including food insecurity and mental health services.

Please remember, I am here not only to support students at school, but to support families in the community as well.  I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you!
