On April 4th each year, National School Librarian Day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning. School librarians are the people who create an environment where students can learn every day of the year.

Kim Anderson is the Moultonborough Central School librarian/media specialist.

“I have worked for the district since 1996. I was a classroom teacher in sixth grade and also in kindergarten. After receiving my masters in library science, and also getting a reading specialist certification, I was a reading specialist for many years. I have been the library media specialist at MCS for over six years. I LOVE being the librarian and working with all the students and teachers. In 2022, our library received the New Hampshire School Library Media Association Library Program of the Year. In 2023 I received the Moultonborough Distinguished Educator of the Year Award. I am incredibly proud to work, and live, in Moultonborough and that I was able to raise my four kids here with my husband, Brent.”

Karyn Ames is the Moultonborough Central School assistant librarian/media specialist.

“I went to school at MCS and MA as a child, and still remain friends/work with many of my classmates. I’m a mom, daughter, granddaughter, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. I love spending time with family and friends camping, at the beach, kayaking, skateboarding, snowboarding, watching my children play sports, reading, writing and drawing. All my experiences in different careers and as a Director of a nonprofit children’s center and teaching has led me to where I am today. I love being a librarian immersed in all the literature and finding that just-right-fit book or genre for all of the children passing through our amazing little school library, my alma mater, MCS.

Carrier Fair is the Library Media Specialist at Moultonborough Academy.

“Meet Carrie Fair, a remarkable librarian extraordinaire; a delightful fusion of bookish brilliance and lively enthusiasm! With a skip in her step, she navigates the stacks, her Dewey Decimal decoder ring a symbol of her expertise. Whether she’s suggesting a new literary journey or crafting a cozy reading corner, she infuses the library with welcoming, warmth, and wonder. Behold, the curator of tales, the conductor of whispers, the librarian – a cherished figure in the vibrant world of books!”

Kirsten Pickel is the assistant librarian at Moultonborough Academy.

“This is my 24th year in the district. I absolutely love my job. My favorite part of being the Library Assistant is that I get to work with all of the amazing students and teachers in our school!”
