This year, Kim Whitehouse and Sharon Groleau attended the National NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) in Washington DC in November. This was a 4 day conference featuring many math leaders from across the country. Sharon and Kim returned with many new and best math teaching strategies which they shared with colleagues.

Kim and Sharon were on the road again in March to Concord, NH to dine and discuss with Graham Fletcher. Graham Fletcher is a leading math presenter who specializes in math progressions and problem-based lessons. The next day, Sharon was able to attend the NHASCD (New Hampshire Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) annual meeting. Here, she was able to hear Graham Fletcher, Karolyn Wurster, and Steven Leinwand speak. Karolyn Wurster is our previous math consultant who now speaks across the state promoting teaching practices of mathempowered.com. Steven Leinwand is the Principal Research Analyst at American Institutes of Research in Arlington, Virginia and the author of many mathematical teaching books. These experiences brought the latest in math teaching research to our district.
