Celebrating the Week of the Young Child

The Week of the Young Child (WOYC) is an annual celebration established in 1971 by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This special week is all about recognizing the importance of early childhood education and celebrating the amazing little learners who bring so much wonder and curiosity into our lives while also recognizing their families and teachers as well. What better way to mark the occasion than with a parade filled with music, laughter, and community spirit?

Families joined their preschoolers, walking hand-in-hand or waving from the sidelines, cheering them on every step of the way. Teachers, staff, and other grade levels joined in the fun too, encouraging the kids and celebrating this special moment with them. Once the final lap of the parade was completed, the celebration didn’t stop there! Everyone gathered for a well-deserved treat: delicious, refreshing popsicles for all. It was the perfect end to the exciting afternoon of festivities.

Events like these remind us of the powerful connection between families, schools, and the community in supporting a child’s early development. A huge thank you to all the families who came out to support our little parade-goers and helped make the day extra special.
