On Saturday, June 11th, Moultonborough Academy Graduation took place at the Sandwich Fair Grounds. Families, staff, and peers gathered to celebrate the graduates and their accomplishments over their time spent in the Moultonborough School District.
The ceremony program included remarks from Shaela Sturgeon- Class of 2022 Co-President, Elliana Marchand Correia- Class Salutatorian, and Sarah DuBois- Class Valedictorian giving advice for the future and recounting fond memories.
Principal Andrew Coppinger spoke about the Class of 2022 in high regards, calling them “exactly what he needed” and “exactly what the country needs right now”.
Senior, Chance Dawson, announced the Class of 2022 Gift, which will be a stone path in the front of the school. The walkway will include the names of all 2022 graduates and will also have room for future seniors. Graduates of MA will be able to look down at their feet and see their names engraved and know that they have accomplished so much in their time at Moultonborough.
The Class Thank You was given by Benjamin Bryant who acknowledged everyone who helped the senior class as a whole but also himself in his personal journey to graduation.
Dakota Mako introduced the Class of 2022 Guest Speaker, Mr. Ronald Kaiser, an English teacher at MA. Kaiser gave the students thoughtful advice and a strong push into the future wielding his sword.
The ceremony concluded with the Presentation of Diplomas, done by Superintendent Patrick Andrew and School Board Chairperson, Patrick Hart. The Class of 2022 then celebrated their graduation to Taylor Swift’s “22”.
