Moultonborough Academy Welcomes New Principal Ryan Gilpatrick

Moultonborough Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Gilpatrick as its new Principal. With over two decades of experience in education, including leadership roles spanning elementary, middle, and high school levels, Gilpatrick brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and a student-centered vision to the Moultonborough Academy community.

Mr. Gilpatrick began his career in education in 2001 working as a hiking and camping counselor at Cheley Colorado Camps in Estes Park, Colorado. Since then, he has served in various capacities, from paraprofessional to teacher to administrator, steadily expanding his expertise in student engagement, instructional leadership, and school community building. Over the past 12 years, he has worked as both an assistant principal and principal, specializing in areas such as student discipline, writing instruction, special education, Title I, social-emotional learning, and school community revitalization.

“I am honored to join Moultonborough Academy and excited to return to the high school level, where I spent seven years as a teacher and five as an assistant principal,” said Mr. Gilpatrick. “As a leader, my priority is to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. By fostering a collaborative school community and continuously improving our systems, we can create an environment where all students thrive.”

Most recently, Mr. Gilpatrick served as the Principal of Rochester Middle School, where he led a staff of 75 educators and nearly 800 students. His leadership focused on developing and implementing systems to support academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning. He also played a key role in New Hampshire Learning Pathways workshops and the development of the Portrait of a Graduate initiative at Spaulding High School.

A firm believer in continuous improvement, he emphasizes data-driven decision-making, collaboration with stakeholders, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. His leadership philosophy centers on building trust, fostering professional growth among educators, and ensuring that every student receives the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

Mr. Gilpatrick holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University, a Master of Arts in English from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Hampshire.

The Moultonborough Academy community looks forward to welcoming Ryan Gilpatrick and working together to continue fostering academic excellence, student success, and a positive school culture.
