Moultonborough, NH – The Moultonborough School District is proud to announce and warmly welcome Kristine Hikel as the new Principal of Moultonborough Central School, effective July 1, 2025.
With nearly three decades of experience in education—as a teacher, assistant principal, athletic director, and community leader—Kristi Hikel brings a dynamic blend of instructional leadership, compassionate student advocacy, and deep community engagement to the Moultonborough Central School community.
Kristi’s extensive background includes serving as Assistant Principal at both Barnstead Elementary School and Milton Elementary School, where she focused on student behavior supports, staff collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and inclusive leadership. A strong advocate for the whole child, she has been instrumental in the development and implementation of tiered systems of support to ensure that all students receive the academic and emotional resources they need to thrive.
Her passion for education is rooted in her belief that strong relationships among students, educators, and the broader community are essential to student success. “I am deeply honored to be joining a school culture so committed to excellence and student growth,” said Kristi. “The shared vision here in Moultonborough—to support the whole child and provide meaningful opportunities for all learners—perfectly aligns with my own philosophy and experience. I look forward to partnering with families, educators, and the community to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and inspired.”
Kristi holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Plymouth State University. She is a certified Principal and Curriculum Administrator. In addition to her school leadership, she is actively involved in civic life and youth development, having served on a school board, held multiple leadership roles in the Boy Scouts of America, and directed summer programming focused on outdoor education and inclusive experiences.
A meet and greet for family will be held at the Choose Love Picnic on May 16th at the MCS.
Please join us in welcoming Kristi Hikel to the Moultonborough Central School family!
