MSD Students Learn The Process of Making Maple Syrup

Superintendent Andrew joined Kindergarteners during their weekly “Forest Friday” adventure with Mr. Weeks.  Kindergartners learned how to identify a maple tree, tap it, and turn the sap into maple syrup.  Fingers crossed for one last snowstorm so we can taste the magic of “sugar on snow”.

Family Consumer Science teacher Amy Morse’s Foods 2 class spent some time at the Booty Farm sugaring and making maple bacon cupcakes with the syrup they got on their field trip.  Eighth graders in FCS class collected sap during our annual sugaring project here on the MA campus.

Preschoolers ventured up check out the sap buckets as well.
