Each August, teachers participate in summer professional development called Summer Curriculum Institute (SCI). This year SCI ran from August 21 – 28, 2023. District teachers give up their summer days to come into the buildings to build on instruction skills and to learn and discuss about new trends in education. This year almost 60% of district teachers gave up some summer days to participate. Teachers had 18 sessions to choose from; session topics included learning to using technology tools and resources(including AI), building student relationships, developing civil discourse strategies and practices, and learning and preparing to implement new curriculum. Presenters included representatives of the talented Moultonborough School District faculty: Sara Fogarty, Carolyn Nelson, Carrie Fair, Meredith Brown, Sharon Groleau, and Jenn Elliott. Teachers expressed value of many sessions and hoped that some presenters could return to share the learning with all staff.
