Students performing a play
On Wednesday, Latin students performed a play of their own creation entitledΒ The Ides of March.Β  Younger Latin students and others from across the school came to learn about the life and death of Julius Caesar.
Betrayed by his allies, and even his most trusted protege, Caesar perished on this day 2065 years ago.Β  His death still prompts the question: was it right to kill the tyrant?Β  Our audience today, like many throughout history, had no consensus on this point: half believed that liberty is attained by removing the dictator, the other half believed that the autocrat you know is better than the power vacuum you don’t.
