December in Physical Education

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders spent the whole month trying to learn how to ride a unicycle. We had some great conversations in class about the importance of having a great work ethic and not giving up… even if you are not successful in something. Mr. Hurley is very proud of the effort and hard work that each student put into trying to learn how to ride a unicycle. The Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders spent a couple weeks learning about scooters. Scooters are a great muscle building activity for the legs and arms. They participated in a wide range of challenges, including the end of unit “driver’s test”. Students had to ride their scooters through an obstacle course and follow the rules of the road in order to earn their very own license plate that they got to decorate however they wanted to. After that the K, 1st, and 2nd grade students got a chance to have a free choice day in PE. Students got the chance to build igloos/ ice castles, ride the Polar Express, test some toys out for Santa, and much more. Happy Holidays Everyone!!
