December was a busy month in the Library Media Center. During tech classes, students did coding in the computer lab to take part in the Hour of Code. This program is designed to introduce, or reinforce, coding skills at all levels. We also love to do Maker space activities to encourage creativity, exploring and sharing with materials that are not always available in the classrooms. We used: 3-D pens, geo-boards, light tables, beads, Legos, magnet blocks/tiles, Plus-Plus Blocks, Keva Planks, we made fabric trees, el ojos de dios ornaments and cards. We love seeing the excitement the kids have for creating and using their imagination.
