The students have been incredibly excited to use all of our materials in the media center makerspace. They created with magnet tiles, light tables, spirographs, card making, puzzles, Legos, crafts and snowflakes. We will continue to add new centers to keep the creativity going! We are loving this opportunity for the kids to choose what they would like to explore.❄️
Tech Talks – Fourth grade reviewed and has been using Keynote for a project. With the toner and paper shortages, we have been organizing and using Notability more and more. We learned about online safety and cyberbullying. Commonsense Media has a desktop program we used called Digital Passport.
Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. O’Gara’s Book Companions Club were able to schedule a special virtual author visit with Tracey Hecht. She is the author of The Nocturnals, The Mysterious Abductions. The 4th and 5th grade members of the club read her book in November. We were able to talk with her for over 45 minutes. She talked about how the story came to life and answered questions about the characters.
Luci said, “I liked meeting the author over Zoom and we got to talk about the book and she could answer all our questions because she wrote it. I was excited to hear that she is working on a Nocturnals TV show.”
