Mrs. McAlpine invited Dr. Carlos Garciamendez-Mijares and Dr. Yu Shrike Zahng from the Zhang Lab at Harvard Medical School to speak to her 7th and 8th grade science students about Bioprinting.
They discussed their work using 3-D printers to build layers of cells. Eventually, this work will result in building cells into human organs.
They brought a 3-D printer with them and demonstrated some of their work.
