Physical Education in March

Physical Education in March started off with our basketball unit. Students worked on dribbling with their “finger pads” and keeping their eyes up. They also worked on two different types of passes, the chest pass and the bounce pass. Lastly, they worked on doing a perfect basketball shot using the acronym “B.E.E.F” to help the kids remember. Base, Eyes on the hoop, Elbows up, and Follow through. Next, students had a gymnastics unit. During gymnastics they worked on the three pillars of gymnastics…strength, balance, and flexibility.  Students had plenty of chances to test out their strength, balance, and flexibility throughout this three week unit. Some examples would be climbing the cargo net, hanging from the pull-up bar, doing yoga poses, walking on the balance beam, and much more! Great job everyone and thank you Mr. Hurley for sharing your March learning.
