Tuesday September 21, 2022, was National IT Professionals Day, a day which honors the tech wizards who keep us connected. We would like to honor (if a bit belated) the Moultonborough School District Tech Department: Etienne Vallee, Director of InformationTechnology; Todd Clifford,Network Administrator; and Kerri Porusta, Technologist.
Etienne Vallee, Director of Information Technology, has worked in education for 24 years; this is his 10th year in the Moultonborough School District. Mr. Vallee started in education as a classroom teacher and worked in Moultonborough School District as a librarian before becoming Director Of Information Technology in 2019. In addition to making sure all our computers, iPads, systems, and applications are working, Mr. Vallee is an advisor to the MA Student Council. He assists the Student Council in organizing activities such as Homecoming Parade and Dance, Winter Carnival, and Co-Curricular Fair. According to Superintendent Patrick Andrew, “Etienne Vallee is an amazingly knowledgeable individual, and he is driven to provide every member of the school community with the technology they need to teach and learn.”
Todd Clifford, Network Administrator, is going into his 17th year working in the district. Mr. Clifford monitors and maintains our multiple systems. He is extremely knowledgeable and solves problems before most of us know that there is a problem. Mr. Vallee finds “Todd an invaluable asset to our tech team. It is his expertise that keeps us [the schools] up and running.” In addition to keeping the network running, Mr. Clifford coaches Boys Varsity Baseball.
Kerri Porusta, Technologist, supports the teachers and students at Moultonborough Central Central School with their technology needs, answering their technology questions. Ms. Porusta has worked for the district for 13 years; this year will be her 14th. “Overseeing all technology needs for both students and staff at MCS is a huge task and she does it with grace and care,” notes MCS Principal Kathleen D’Haene. “Her knowledge of technology helps to keep the learning process and daily operations of MCS running smoothly. We appreciate all that she does for MCS.” Ms. Porusta also manages MCS social media, Facebook and newsblog.
The Moultonborough School District Tech Team has provided excellent technology support to teachers and students over the years. Their unseen efforts ensure that our students can participate fully in the learning experiences we provide. Thank you, Etienne, Todd, and Kerri.
