A new club launched in the fall of 2023 at Moultonborough Central School is all about math. “Crazy 8s is a math club unlike any other! It offers unique, high-energy math activities that appeal to kids of all math abilities.” The goal is to use student interests and hands on activities to reduce math anxiety, increasing excitement about math in the classroom. MSD math specialist Sharon Groleau, teacher Colleen Kelly, and paraeducators Amber Hoag and Tracy Snow lead this national program at MCS with great success. Teachers are reporting that students who participate in the program are more enthusiastic about math than before.
On February 6, 2024, Principal D’Haene and Ms. Groleau presented about the club to the Moultonborough School Board.
