2nd Grade Adventures and Farm Ecology

Yesterday, students visited the Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center in Laconia, NH. They participated in the Farm Ecology program and learned about composting and plants and how growing food is highly dependent on nature. The children learned about how the FBI (F-fungus, B-bacteria and I-invertebrates) helps compost food remnants and manure. They took a walk and looked for signs of FBI. They also were able to plant basil seeds and make wildflower seed balls. Lastly, they enjoyed lunch and had a great time using their Playscape – a wonderful natural playground.
