In 2019, the district leadership engaged in a review and revision of previous onboarding practices and instituted a new mentoring program with the goal of improving the new employee induction experience, leading to better retention of employees and improved outcomes for students. Dolores Fox, Etienne Vallee, and Jillian Cookingham assumed responsibility for the design and implementation of a comprehensive onboarding and mentoring program for newly hired teachers, and, which now includes, newly hired paraeducators, as well. The induction program starts in the summer and goes through the school year, utilizing the resources of district leadership, peer mentoring, external mentors, and technology.  The goal is to prepare our new educators to be the best they can be right from the start, so our students get the best educational experience possible.
